Faith That Overcomes

🎧 Listen to Today's Devotional

Sunday's Reflection

Faith is not wishful thinking; it is trusting God when the evidence seems against us. The Bible is full of men and women who stood firm in impossible situations because they believed the promises of God more than the threats of men. From Noah building an ark when there was no rain, to Abraham leaving his homeland without knowing his destination, faith has always been the key to overcoming the world.
A young nurse in the Middle East faced pressure to renounce her faith in Christ. Family and colleagues mocked her, yet she quietly lived her faith with kindness. Years later, one of her harshest critics became a believer after recalling her patience and courage. Faith that overcomes doesn’t always roar; sometimes it endures quietly until God’s power is revealed.
“Faith is trusting in God—believing that He loves us and knows best what is for our good.” (Ellen G. White, Education, p. 253). This week, we learn that real faith looks beyond feelings and circumstances, resting in the sure word of God.
