Faith That Overcomes

Wednesday's Reflection
Matthew 17:20 — If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed... nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Jesus reminds us that it is not the size of our faith that matters, but the greatness of the God we trust. A mustard seed is one of the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into a large tree. In the same way, even a small measure of genuine faith, when placed in God’s hands, can accomplish the impossible. Faith begins quietly—in a prayer, a decision, a single act of obedience—and as we nurture it through His Word and daily surrender, it grows strong enough to move mountains of fear, doubt, and impossibility.
Corrie ten Boom and her family in Holland lived out this truth during World War II. With nothing but a mustard seed of courage, they risked their lives to hide Jewish families from the Nazis. Their faith did not remove danger, but it gave them strength to obey God’s call. When Corrie was later imprisoned in a concentration camp, she clung to God’s promises, whispering Scripture in the darkness. That tiny faith carried her through the valley of death and blossomed into a testimony that has inspired millions. Her life proves that faith, however small, becomes unstoppable when rooted in God’s power.
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust You even when my faith feels small. Take the mustard seed of belief within me and make it grow strong through Your Word and Spirit. Teach me to act on faith, not fear, and to believe that with You, nothing is impossible. Amen.
