Wednesday's Reflection

Romans 10:9 — That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Salvation is both inward and outward: a heart that believes and a mouth that confesses. True faith cannot remain hidden; it overflows into words and actions. Confession of Christ is both a declaration of loyalty and an assurance of belonging to God's family. The heart and the mouth must agree—internal conviction produces external confession. To believe in the heart means more than intellectual acknowledgment; it is deep, personal trust that Christ is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead. The resurrection is not optional—it is the foundation of our faith and the proof of Christ's victory over sin and death.
Confession with the mouth may seem simple, but in a hostile world it requires courage. To publicly identify with Christ is to invite rejection, mockery, and sometimes persecution. Yet this public confession is essential because it seals our commitment and witnesses to others. When we confess Jesus as Lord, we declare that He alone has authority over our lives, that His way is our way, and that we belong to Him regardless of the cost. This confession is not a one-time event but a lifestyle—continually acknowledging Christ in our words, our choices, and our conduct.
The thief on the cross, in his final moments, confessed Jesus as Lord. With his dying breath he said, "Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom" (Luke 23:42). In response, Christ promised him paradise that very day. His story shows that even at the last breath, God's grace is sufficient. No one is beyond the reach of salvation if they believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord. Salvation is available to all who call upon the name of the Lord.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe in my heart that You are the Son of God and that the Father raised You from the dead. I confess with my mouth that You are Lord of my life. Save me, transform me, and use me for Your glory. Amen.
