Monday's Reflection

2 Timothy 3:16-17 — All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Scripture is not a human invention but the inspired Word of God. Every verse carries His breath, shaping what we believe, correcting our errors, training us in righteousness, and equipping us for service. The Bible is "God-breathed"—meaning it originates from the very mouth of God, carrying divine authority and power. It is not merely a collection of religious wisdom or moral teachings, but revelation from heaven designed to transform lives.
This inspiration extends to all Scripture—not just the comforting verses but also the challenging ones, not just the promises but also the warnings, not just the New Testament but also the Old. Every genealogy, every historical account, every prophecy serves God's purpose in revealing Himself and His plan for humanity. The Word is profitable in four ways: it teaches doctrine (what to believe), reproves (what to avoid), corrects (how to get back on track), and instructs in righteousness (how to live). Together, these make the believer complete and equipped for every good work.
Because Scripture is God-breathed, it carries an authority that no human philosophy, popular opinion, or personal feeling can match. When God speaks through His Word, the matter is settled. We do not judge Scripture; Scripture judges us. We do not critique it; it critiques us. When we open the Bible, we open ourselves to the voice of the Almighty, who still speaks with the same power that created worlds and raised the dead.
Prayer: Lord, help us to receive Your Word as truly inspired, authoritative, and sufficient for all we need. Teach us to treasure every verse and to submit our lives to its truth. May Scripture thoroughly equip us for the good works You have prepared. Amen.
