Salvation in Christ

Monday's Reflection

John 14:6 — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus makes an exclusive and life-changing claim: He is not one of many ways to God, but the only way to the Father. This statement offends modern pluralism, which insists all paths lead to the same destination. Yet Christ's claim is unambiguous—He alone is the way, the truth, and the life. In Him we discover truth that never changes, life that never ends, and a path that leads to eternal joy. Salvation is not about rituals, religious systems, or philosophical concepts—it is about a living relationship with Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
The three-fold declaration is significant. Jesus is the way—not merely showing the way but being the way Himself. He is the truth—the ultimate reality against which all other claims are measured. He is the life—not just offering life but being the source of all true life. These are not abstract theological concepts but the essence of who Christ is. To know Him is to know the way to God, to possess absolute truth, and to receive eternal life. No other religious leader has made such claims. Buddha did not claim to be the way—he pointed to a path. Muhammad did not claim to be the truth—he claimed to be a prophet. But Jesus claimed to be God incarnate, the exclusive means of salvation.
This exclusivity is not narrow-mindedness but reality. There are not many roads up the mountain to God; there is one bridge across the chasm of sin, and that bridge is the cross of Christ. Those who attempt other routes find the bridge out, the door locked, the way impassable. But those who come to the Father through Christ find the door wide open, the welcome overwhelming, and the grace sufficient. Every person must decide: will I accept Christ's exclusive claim and enter through Him, or will I reject it and remain outside?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life. Forgive us for seeking salvation in anything or anyone else. We come to the Father through You alone, trusting in Your finished work on the cross. Lead us in Your way all our days. Amen.
