From Year's End to New Beginning
š§ Listen to Today's Devotional
Thursday's Reflection
2 Peter 3:18 ā But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Today marks the beginning of a new year, and across the world, millions are making resolutionsāpromises to lose weight, save money, or achieve personal goals. Most fail because they rely on human willpower alone. As believers, we are called to something greater than self-improvement: spiritual transformation through relationship with Christ. The question for this first day is not "What can I accomplish?" but "How will I grow in grace and in the knowledge of my Lord and Saviour?"
Let 2026 be the year you truly seek God's face for who He is. Make daily time with Him non-negotiableānot as a ritual, but as the most important appointment of your day. Open His Word to hear His voice, and move beyond hurried prayers into deep communion where you listen as much as you speak. Pursue genuine fellowship with believers who challenge your faith, and use your spiritual gifts intentionally for Kingdom work. Spiritual growth doesn't happen accidentally; it requires the same intentionality we give to our careers or health.
This is day one of three hundred sixty-five. Every journey of spiritual growth begins with a daily decision to abide in Christ, drawn by love for the One who gave everything for you. While the world measures success by wealth and status, heaven asks: Did you grow in grace? Did you know Christ more intimately in December than in January? Choose today to prioritize your walk with God. His mercies are new this morning and His grace is sufficient for every day ahead. Begin this year on your knees, and you will end it on your feetāstronger in faith and closer to the heart of God.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, on this first day of a new year, I commit myself to spiritual growth. Help me to seek You daily, to treasure Your Word, to deepen my prayer life, and to walk in obedience. Let this be the year I truly abide in You. Give me grace to persevere when discipline is difficult, and remind me that knowing You is life's greatest prize. To You be glory both now and forever. Amen.
