The Birth of the King

Sunday's Reflection
Luke 2:11 — For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Christmas is the celebration of history's greatest moment: God entered our world as a baby in Bethlehem. Unlike earthly kings, He came in humility—no palace, no throne, no crown—only a manger, shepherds, and starlight. Yet heaven sang, for the King had come.
This week we enter the heart of the Christmas story itself—the birth of our Savior, the promised Messiah, Emmanuel. From Mary's obedient "yes" to the shepherds' joyful worship, from the angels' glorious announcement to the manger's humble setting, every detail reveals God's character and His redemptive plan. We will walk through the events of that holy night, marveling at the wonder of incarnation, celebrating the arrival of the Light of the world, and understanding why heaven rejoiced when the King was born in Bethlehem's stable.
"The King of glory stooped low, clothing His divinity with humanity, that He might meet man where he was." (Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 48)
Prayer: Lord Jesus, as we celebrate Your birth this week, open our hearts to the wonder of Your coming. Help us see past the familiar story to the stunning reality: God became man, heaven touched earth, and salvation entered the world. Fill us with the joy of Christmas. Amen.
