Every Old Testament saint lived and died clutching this promise—that One was coming who would crush the serpent's power and restore what was lost.

Adam and Eve carried this promise with trembling hope. When Cain was born, Eve exclaimed, "I have gotten a man from the Lord"—perhaps thinking he was the promised Seed. But Cain became a murderer. When Abel died, their hope seemed crushed. Yet when Seth was born, hope rekindled. Christmas is not just a birthday celebration—it is the fulfillment of humanity's oldest and deepest hope. Today, when families reconcile at Christmas, when siblings long estranged come together and old wounds begin to heal, we see Christ still crushing division with love, still defeating the enemy's work of separation.
