Saturday's Reflection
2 Corinthians 5:20 — Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
This week we looked at what it means to share our faith in ordinary, everyday ways. Rosaria Butterfield, a hostile professor and critic of Christianity, was won to Christ not by an argument but by a pastor and his wife who welcomed her to their table again and again until the gospel became real to her. Thomas Bilney, a timid scholar known as "Little Bilney," won the hostile Hugh Latimer to Christ through a humble, personal confession of faith — and Latimer became a towering Reformer whose witness helped shape a nation. Andrew quietly brought people one at a time to Jesus, starting with his own brother. And the Scriptures freed us from thinking witness depends on eloquence, reminding us that the power belongs to the Spirit and that the deepest witness is simply a life that has been with Jesus.
The thread running through all of it is that witness is not mainly a task for the gifted few — it is the natural overflow of every believer's life. We are all ambassadors, representing Christ in the ordinary places where God has put us. We do not need to be eloquent, trained, or impressive. We need to love people genuinely, point them honestly to Jesus, do the small faithful thing in front of us, and let the Spirit supply the power. Most people come to faith not through a famous preacher but through an ordinary believer who simply lived and loved like Christ in front of them.
On this Sabbath, rest in the fact that the harvest belongs to God, not to you. You are not responsible for saving anyone — that is His work, and His alone. You are only responsible to be a faithful ambassador, available and willing, and to spend real time with the One you represent. Rest today in His presence, and let that time with Him become, in the week ahead, a witness that speaks before you ever say a word. The increase is His. Rest in that.

Prayer: Father, thank You that the harvest is Yours and we are simply Your ambassadors. As we rest this Sabbath, fill our hearts so full of the love of Christ that it cannot be hidden, and let that love become our witness in the week to come. Amen.
