The Power of Prayer

Monday's Reflection
Jeremiah 33:3 — Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things.
God invites us to call on Him with the assurance that He will not only hear but also reveal “great and mighty things” beyond our imagination. Prayer opens the door for divine wisdom, giving clarity when we are confused and hope when we feel powerless. Through prayer, God allows us to see life from His higher perspective, lifting our eyes from the problem to His power.
George Müller of England, who cared for thousands of orphans in the 19th century, is a living testimony of this promise. He never asked people for money but prayed daily for God’s provision. Over and over, food arrived just in time, often without anyone knowing of the urgent need. Once, with hundreds of children waiting at empty tables, he prayed for breakfast—and a baker and milkman showed up at the door unexpectedly. Müller’s life proves that those who call upon God see mighty answers that human planning could never achieve.
Prayer: Lord, when I face needs too great for my strength, remind me to call upon You. Help me to trust that Your answers are sure, Your timing perfect, and Your power without limit. Reveal to me the “great and mighty things” that come only from walking closely with You. Amen.
