The Power of Prayer

Tuesday's Reflection

Matthew 7:7 — Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Jesus teaches persistence in prayer—keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. Prayer is not a one-time request but a continual conversation that deepens our dependence on God. This verse reassures us that God is approachable, generous, and eager to open doors that lead us closer to Him.
One of the most famous examples of persistent prayer is that of Monica, the mother of Augustine. For decades she prayed for her wayward son, weeping over his rebellion and pleading for his salvation. At last, her prayers were answered when Augustine surrendered to Christ, later becoming one of the greatest Christian thinkers in history. Her story proves that no prayer offered in faith is wasted—God answers in His perfect time, often with results beyond what we dare to imagine.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to pray with faith and patience. When the answers seem delayed, help me trust that You are working beyond what I can see. May my heart never tire of seeking You, and may every prayer draw me nearer to Your will. Amen.
