3rd Quarter, 2025
Lesson 7 (August 9 - August 15, 2025)
The Lord Our Shepherd
Memory Verse: "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing" (Psalm 23:1, NIV).
Lesson 7, “The Lord Our Shepherd,” explores God’s care and guidance for His people. Like a shepherd with his flock, God leads, protects, and provides. Shepherd Imagery Israel often pictured God as their shepherd, guiding them through wilderness and dangers. The imagery points to intimacy, provision, and safety. Guidance and Protection The shepherd not only feeds but also defends. God’s people could rest in His constant care, even in hostile settings. Christ Connection Jesus declared Himself the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. He knows His own by name and leads them to eternal life. Applications 1. Trust God’s guidance even when the path is unclear. 2. Rest in His protection during life’s dangers. 3. Listen to the Shepherd’s voice through His Word and Spirit. 4. Follow Christ, the Good Shepherd, who gave His life for you. ✨ In essence: The Lord is our Shepherd. His care is personal, protective, and sacrificial, fulfilled perfectly in Christ, who leads us to eternal safety.
