Lesson 6 (January 31 - February 6, 2026)
Confidence Only in Christ
Memory Verse: "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead" (Philippians 3:10–11, NKJV).
Lesson 6, “Confidence Only in Christ,” centers on Paul’s personal testimony that true confidence and righteousness are found in Christ alone, not in human achievement, heritage, or religious performance. Drawing from his own background, Paul contrasts self-confidence with faith grounded entirely in Jesus. False Confidence Exposed Paul warns against placing trust in external markers such as status, tradition, or obedience to the law. Though he once relied on these credentials, he now regards them as loss compared to knowing Christ. Righteousness Through Faith The lesson emphasizes that righteousness comes through faith in Christ, not through human effort. Salvation is a gift rooted in Christ’s faithfulness and received by trusting dependence on Him. Knowing Christ Personally Paul’s desire goes beyond intellectual belief. To know Christ means experiencing the power of His resurrection and sharing in His sufferings. This relationship reshapes priorities, values, and purpose. Sharing in Christ’s Sufferings Union with Christ includes both victory and sacrifice. Paul teaches that suffering for Christ is not meaningless but part of spiritual growth and conformity to Christ’s character. Hope of Resurrection The ultimate goal of Paul’s faith is resurrection life with Christ. This future hope sustains believers through present trials and keeps faith focused beyond earthly success. Christ Connection Jesus alone provides righteousness, life, and resurrection hope. Through His death and resurrection, Christ becomes both the foundation and goal of the believer’s confidence. Applications 1. Place confidence in Christ rather than personal achievements. 2. Let faith replace reliance on religious performance. 3. Seek a deeper, personal knowledge of Christ. 4. Accept suffering as part of growth in Christ. 5. Live with hope anchored in the resurrection. ✨ In essence: “Confidence Only in Christ” teaches that genuine faith abandons self-reliance and rests fully in knowing Christ, sharing His life, and trusting His promise of resurrection.
