Weekly Adult Sabbath School lesson summary — growing in faith as we prepare for Christ’s soon return.

4th Quarter, 2025
Lesson 3 (October 11 - October 17, 2025)
Memorials of Grace
Memory Verse: "For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up for us until we passed over, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever" (Joshua 4:23–24, ESV).
Lesson 3, “Memorials of Grace,” focuses on the importance of remembering God’s saving acts and preserving them for future generations. Through Israel’s crossing of the Jordan and the memorial stones set up afterward, the lesson shows that remembrance strengthens faith, anchors identity, and bears witness to God’s power and faithfulness. Remembering God’s Mighty Acts After Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground, God instructed them to set up memorial stones. These stones served as visible reminders that the same God who parted the Red Sea continued to lead and protect His people. Faith Passed to the Next Generation The memorials were meant to prompt questions from children and provide opportunities to retell the story of God’s deliverance. Remembering is not only personal but communal, ensuring that faith is transmitted across generations. Grace Marked in History The lesson emphasizes that memorials point to grace, not human achievement. Israel’s success was due entirely to God’s power, reinforcing humility and gratitude rather than pride. Witness to the Nations God’s mighty acts were intended to reveal His power not only to Israel but to all nations. The memorial stones testified that the Lord alone is God, worthy of reverence and trust. Spiritual Memorials Today Believers today are encouraged to establish spiritual memorials through testimony, worship, and remembrance of God’s work in their lives. These reminders strengthen faith during future challenges. Christ Connection Just as Israel passed through the Jordan by God’s power, believers pass from death to life through Christ. Jesus’ saving work becomes the ultimate memorial of grace, continually remembered through faith and worship. Applications 1. Regularly remember and recount God’s saving acts. 2. Share stories of faith with the next generation. 3. Build spiritual habits that preserve memory of God’s grace. 4. Let remembrance lead to gratitude and humility. 5. Use personal testimony as a witness to others. ✨ In essence: “Memorials of Grace” teaches that remembering God’s mighty works strengthens faith, preserves spiritual identity, and points both present and future generations to the enduring power of His grace.
